Just south of Anchorage lies a gorgeous stretch of highway. Winding along the Turnagain arm one is surrounded by Alaskan beauty! Towering mountains above, sprinkled with waterfalls and finely sculpted glacier bowls and valleys create a dramatic landscape.
Dall sheep are nearly guaranteed along this route and prove to be quite photogenic. You think they might sit for painting? Maybe!
The Turnagain arm is itself a sight to behold with drastic tide fluctuations and constantly shifting braided channels at low tide. The drastic tide shift also allows for a changing craggy shorelines and silty beaches.
